The Seminary is Place in Mind's flagship hospitality property. This landmark building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and set within the idyllic New England village of Old Bennington, Vermont. Built in 1829 as the Bennington Seminary, an all-boys boarding school, it became the Mt. Anthony Seminary in 1864 when it turned co-educational, later serving as a country club, a retreat for writers and faculty under Bennington College, and finally a private residence. Though parts of its history were lost — the adjacent dormitory razed and the original bell tower removed — Place in Mind has restored what time erased. A faithful reconstruction of the 1829 bell tower opens to a newly constructed 750-square-foot suite, alongside preserved original windows, historically matched paint colors, replicated millwork, a restored barn, and a soulfully designed interior by Hendricks Churchill.
